Crystal Lake Central High School is a public, four-year high school with an enrollment of 1,509 students. Located approximately 45 miles northwest of Chicago, the school serves Crystal Lake and Lakewood. Crystal Lake Central offers a comprehensive curriculum and extracurricular activities to help students expand their academic and social skills, learn about themselves, engage in positive experiences, and be involved with community outreach. There are 24 different sports and more than 33 clubs and activities.
Crystal Lake Central ranked in the top eight percent of high schools nationally by U.S. News & World Report. Crystal Lake Central has been recognized as a top high school for the last four years by U.S. News & World Report.
In District 155, 82% of teachers hold a master’s degree. The teacher-student ratio is 20:1. The school also employs four counselors, two social workers, and one psychologist on its student services team.
Community High School District 155 includes four comprehensive high schools and one alternative education campus. Serving grades 9-12, each institution has full State of Illinois recognition and accreditation. Enrollment includes approximately 5,370 students from McHenry and Lake counties.
