Athletic Training & Sports Medicine
Crystal Lake Central partners with Mercyhealth Sports Medicine to provide an athletic trainer that will evaluate and treat student athletes.
What is an Athletic Trainer?
Athletic trainers (ATs) are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to provide preventative services, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. Athletic trainers work under the direction of a physician as prescribed by state licensure statutes. The athletic training academic curriculum and clinical training follows the medical model. Starting in 2023, athletic trainers must graduate from an accredited master's program.

Visiting Teams
Water will be provided on your bench during athletic competitions. Your team is responsible for bringing water bottles or cups. If you have athletes that need to be taped on site, you need to bring tape for the athletic trainer.
